Rendering of the Main Theatre space in Meredith

The Playhouse has plans to develop a state-of-the-art theatre campus in Meredith (the former Annalee Doll factory on Reservoir Road).  The completed campus will have increased seating capacity in the main theatre as well as many amenities including expanded classroom, admin, lobby, concession and bathroom facilities, as well as an outdoor performance space, eating area, nature trail and more!

The Winnipesaukee Playhouse, already recognized for its artistic merit, has made itself a valuable asset to the area.  Its current intimate Off-Broadway style theatre, which seats 84, is no longer able to meet the increasing demand for tickets.  A three phase plan is in place for a state-of-the-art theatre campus in Meredith, New Hampshire that will propel the Playhouse to the next level and enhance its contributions to the Lakes Region community.

 Pre-show
($1 million - already donated)
Site work at the 11 acre property in Meredith including site lighting, staff accomodations, an outdoor amphitheatre, and ample parking.

Lights Up
($2.5 million - $1 million match pledged)
A 180-249 seat theatre and support spaces including lobby, dressing rooms, classrooms, technical facilities and administative support.  The Playhouse is committed to creating a theatre that retains the intimate feel of the
current location yet accommodates the needs of our growing audience.

Curtain Call
($500k )

The creation of a second, smaller Black Box theatre to be used for smaller scale
productions and educational programs.

When will the Meredith campus open?  That depends on you!  The capital campaign goal is $3 million.  The new theatre will be able to open after we raise the first $2.5 million.  A generous local couple has pledged to match the first million dollars raised in our capital campaign dollar for dollar.  These supporters recognize the impact of the Playhouse on the community and their pledge will allow  your contribution to go twice as far to bring the lights up in the new facility!  Says Van McLeod, NH Commissioner for Cultural Resources, "The opportunity The Winni Playhouse has in Meredith is enormous and unique. No other theatre in the State has the physical resources on one site and the campus atmosphere will enhance the Playhouse's ability to provide not only first rate performances but continue to expand the educational component which is a major benefit to the greater Lakes Region community. The Lakes Region is a destination, and the Playhouse campus will become a top destination in itself and help draw people from all over to central New Hampshire. Their plans are visionary and will make a real difference in the lives of people who live here and visit here."
