Neil, who was born and, until recently, always lived in England, has been a director and teacher since 1988. For the past 12 years he has worked in London and in that time has directed everything from Greek tragedy and Shakespeare to classic comic farces and modern musicals. Neil

His students have performed on stage, radio and television. They have appeared as extras in two James Bond movies, worked behind the camera on "Tomb Raider" and have been seen on both children’s and primetime dramas for the BBC and independent television companies. One student has performed professionally at the Royal National Theatre, while another took the title role in Sam Mendes’ production of Oliver at the London Palladium. Neil then coached this same student for his radio performance in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale where he happily worked with Sir John Gielgud in what turned out to be the star’s final performance. This pupil was most recently seen nationally as the star of a Bafta award-winning BBC 3-part series screened last Christmas. Another current pupil worked for two years on one of Britain’s primetime soap operas, "Eastenders", as well as hosting children’s television programs for the BBC. Two further pupils now have careers in professional technical theatre, one being the lighting associate at the Hampstead Theatre in London.

Neil has worked closely with different television and film companies, helping them audition young actors for several BBC children’s tv series as well as the second Harry Potter movie.

Neil has been lucky enough to have been able to interview two of Britain’s premiere actors, David Suchet (of "Poirot" fame) and Timothy West in an "Inside the Actors’ Studio" style presentation before an invited audience.

Neil attained his original degree and teaching qualification from the University of Wales and his MA in Theatre Education from Laurence Olivier and Dame Judi Dench’s alma mater, The Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He was Head of Drama at The John Lyon School for 10 years and worked at Harrow, one of England’s foremost and oldest schools whose alumni include Sir Winston Churchill, the playwright Terrence Rattigan and the actor Cary Elwes.
